“The Vašulkas’ times at Buffalo’s Media Study, one of the most comprehensive media programs in the world, formed the focus of the aforementioned MindFrames exhibition, which the Vašulkas organized along with Peter Weibel and several others in late 2006 and early 2007 at the ZKM Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe, Germany. This extensive audiovisual survey looked at the period from 1973 to 1990, when Buffalo was home to the structural filmmakers Paul Sharits and Hollis Frampton, the documentarian James Blue, musician and filmmaker Tony Conrad, and later also Peter Weibel.”
